Jeb Announced Yesterday at #MineconEarth the official features that's going to be in Minecraft 1.4 coming with the name "The Update Aquatic"

Dolphins:

These very cute mobs replaces chickens, They're a ocean mobs so spawning them on the ground is not a good idea



You can tame them with fish or salmon and they'll turn into your very loyal ocean pets



They'll follow you where ever you go in the water, But don't expect them to walk on the land
But once you go back to the sea you'll find your lovely pet right by your side

You can also use a Leash them, Who knows when this will be useful
